KLORR Detailed EIA

The DOE has posted the announcement for the Detailed EIA of the eastern alignment of the KLORR in the DOE website. In the DEIA, it is stated that the road will affect the following forest reserves: Hulu Gombak Forest Reserve, Ampang Forest Reserve and Hulu Langat Forest Reserve. The whole forest reserve area affected will be 214.7 ha and is part of Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor.

The DEIA can be viewed at all state DOE offices in Selangor. Deadline for submission of comments to the DOE is 3rd February 2012.

Reviewing the DEIA can be very time consuming and difficult, especially if for the average person. So to help us all better understand what it's all about, public briefings on the eastern portion of the KLORR are being organised by WWF-Malaysia, on the 12 and 14 January 2012.

Members of the public are invited to attend learn more about findings of the proposed project based on the DEIA. Details of the briefing sessions are as follows:-

There is still time to submit your written comments to the DOE on the DEIA for the eastern route of the KLORR. Based on the information TrEES has received, the DOE has given an extension for the submission of comments. Comments now due by Friday, 3 February 2012.
